The third phase of auction of 88 coal blocks across the country, including 19 coal blocks in Jharkhand, will be completed by January 25 next year. For this, the Ministry of Coal has issued the tender schedule. The pre-bid meeting with the interested parties to participate in the coal block auction is proposed on October 26 as per the schedule. After this, technical and financial bids will be conducted and successful companies will get an opportunity to participate in the e-auction to be held from January 7 to 20 next year. Eight coal blocks have been allotted According to sources, many big companies have shown interest in Jharkhands coal block. Prior to this, eight coal blocks of the country have been allocated on the basis of the second phase auction held on September 21. Three of these mines are in Jharkhand. Agreements have also been signed with the companies declared successful in the auction. After this, Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi has appealed to the companies to start the mining of these companies soon and to start the coal mines allotted from the coal block states.

Mining likely by 2023 In the second phase auction, Jogeshwar and Khas Jogeshwar South West Coal Block has been won by Pinnacle Exploration Limited, while Rauta Coal Block and Budhakhap Coal Block has been won by Shree Satya Mines Private Limited. Earlier, Adani Group had got the mining rights on the basis of auction in Gondlipura Coal Mines of Hazaribagh. The coal block at Barkagaon in Hazaribagh has 184 million tonnes of reserve coal. The company has started preparations for mining here. According to official sources of the company, mining is likely to be started here by 2023. Jharkhand will have massive revenue growth Jharkhands coal blocks to be auctioned in the third phase and subsequent phases are Vrinda and Sisai, Chitarpur, Choriyatand Tilaiya, Jaynagar, Lalgarh (North), Latehar, North Dhadu, Basantpur, Binja, Dhulia North, Dighi Dharampur. Mines like North, Dighi Dharampur South, Sitanala, Barwatoli, Sheregarha etc. are included. It is believed that with the start of mining in these coal blocks, economic activities will start on a large scale in Jharkhand and along with this employment opportunities will also be created. A massive increase has also been projected in Jharkhands coal revenue.
