Newcastle is apparently willing to pay £60 million for Amadou Haidara in order to snare Ralf Rangnicks first Manchester United signing. Rangnick is reportedly interested in signing the RB Leipzig midfielder this January, according to Mirror Football. The interim manager of the Red Devils was in talks with the agency that represents the 23-year-old in December about a possible move. Haidara is said to have a £33 million release clause that will kick in this summer. However, with competition for the Mali international heating up, interested parties are poised to pay a lot more this month to obtain his signature. According to the Daily Mail, despite his relatively low release clause being active in just six months, a deal for Haidara may be worth upwards of £80 million. Newcastle has already demonstrated their willingness to spend big money by signing Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid for £12 million-plus add-ons. Burnley target Chris Wood is ready to join the Toon after his £25 million release clause was activated.
